I refer to your request to have the death of person who died overseas, registered in Victoria.
Please not if a Victorian resident dies overseas, you are not required to register the death in Victoria. The death should be registered in the country where the person has died. A death certificate is then issued to the family by the overseas authorities.
To consider whether it is appropriate to register the death in Victoria, please let us know and we will outline the requirements as the process is different to a Victorian death.
