Disruption of the interaction between
histone lysine residues and DNA allows
DNA to unwrap and become more
accessible to RNA polymerase II
(RNAPII) and transcription factors (TFs).
• In other words, histone acetylation
promotes gene expression by making
chromatin accessible to RNAPII and
TFs. Histone deacetylation thus has the
opposite effect.
Histon lizin kalıntıları ile DNA arasındaki etkileşimin bozulması, DNA'nın çözülmesine ve RNA polimeraz II (RNAPII) ve transkripsiyon faktörlerine (TF'ler) daha erişilebilir hale gelmesine olanak tanır.
• Başka bir deyişle, histon asetilasyonu, kromatinin RNAPII ve TF'lere erişilebilir hale gelmesini sağlayarak gen ekspresyonunu teşvik eder. Histon deasetilasyonu ise bununTam tersi etkiye sahiptir.
