The Internal Control (IC) is amplified and detected in the crimson channel on the Rotor-Gene
Q system. The IC is designed to be more sensitive to inhibitors than the human and male
quantification targets. The comparison of the Cq values of the IC system for DNA standards
with the Cq values of the IC system for unknown samples may provide an indication of
potential inhibition of the reaction in the unknown samples
