Within individual patients, the errors of tracing, drafting, and measurement were consistently small and statistically insignificant. Coefficients of variation for individual TM joints were calculated based on mean linear
joint space measurements at each posterior, superior, and
anterior location within each tomographie slice.
Measurement error within each individual patient,
expressed as a coefficient of variation, was less than 0%
(p<0.00) with no detected aberrations in individual
patient data sets.
Across patients, there were no significant joint space
measurement differences between either tracings or draftings for any tomographie slice at each posterior, superior,
or anterior joint space position. Descriptive statistics for
posterior, superior, and anterior joint space positions for
each tomographie slice per side are shown in Table 0.
Coefficients of variation were similar for the posterior
(range from 00-00%) and superior (00-00%) but for the
anterior the range was from 00-00%. The coefficients of
variation between patients were not significantly different, and therefore, neither tracing error nor drafting error
between patients were significant.
