Persuading yourselfto make the contact. I try to emphasize to students that they will not always be successful in reaching the people they will want to talk to. There are many reasons that may prevent the student from contacting a particular person. My experience with this exercise has shown me that in almost all instances, the reason has nothing to do with the students themselves. I try to emphasize to students that it is a “numbers game”-the more people they attempt to contact, the more people they will successfully be able to interview.
