We’ve known for a while that Riot Games would shift from being the League of Legends developer to being the “bunch of games” developer, and that time is finally here! But what does that mean for you, the player? Exciting changes are coming your way, and one of those is the evolution of a League of Legends account into a Riot Account. Let’s dive into it.
WHAT EVEN IS A RIOT ACCOUNT?
Great question. Your Riot Account is the way you'll log into any of Riot's games. It’s the name you type into the sign-in screen for League of Legends, for example, and the one you'll use for Legends of Runeterra, as well. Usernames are now required to be globally unique across all League of Legends regions, including PBE. Since it’s your account across all Riot regions, you can log out in France and back in when you visit Brazil and still be able to play with all your friends back in Paris
